Wasps are flying insects similar to bees often build nests on houses and other buildings. Wasps can be a real problem for people and pets because they have a painful sting. Fortunately there are pest control measures that can be taken against wasps and gopher traps for gophers.
Wasps are often mistaken for yellowjackets and hornets, two similar stinging insects that look much the same. From a practical standpoint there is no difference between these insects. The same pest control measures can be taken against all of these bugs.
To get rid of wasps you will have to find their nest, this is usually a crusty brown or grey object on the edge of the house. These nests are often located under the eves of homes, on roofs and sometimes in garages. The nests can also be located in trees and even in abandoned vehicles.
When you see wasps look around for their nest it shouldnít be too hard to locate. If you canít locate the nest and destroy it you wonít be able to get rid of wasps.
Once youíve found the wasp nest your best course of action will be to use an aerosol wasp spray to spray the nest. This should kill the wasps in their nest. The best course of action is to spray the nest with this product and wait a few hours to see if the wasps are dead.
Donít try to destroy a waspsí nest with water from a hose until you are certain are dead. Spraying the nest with water will make the wasps mad and likely to attack you. It is best to use an aerosol or dust pest control product on the wasp nest before attempting to destroy it.
Always be very careful when engaging in pest control efforts against wasps, hornets, bees, and other stinging insects. Some people can have allergic reactions to these creaturesí stings that can be fatal or cause serious health problems. A person who is allergic to bee or wasp stings should never try to get rid of these insects.
